What commands are available?

The fields [username] and [message] are placeholders for real usernames / messages ...

Command Description
/j [channel] or
/join [channel]		 Joins the Channel [channel] (You can even though klick on the Channel-Name where the nicklist is found ...)
/ju [username] or
/follow [username]		 Follows a User to another Channel. (You can not follow Users into Private or Locked Channels)
/col [color] Changes your Message-Color (You have to specify a hex-triplet, e.G. #FF0000 for red)
/s [message] or
/scream [message]		 Screams the Message
/me [message] Good to express your emotions, for example, /me is lonely will become "mazen is lonely"
/away [message] Marks you as away.

/load or
/uptime

 Displays some Server-Statistics
/clear

Clears the Chatwindow (if your Browser gets slow, do this!)
It seems to be, that IE6 doesn't support it, try the refresh-button from your Browser instead.
/about Displays some information about the Chat
/m [username] [message] or
/msg [username] [message]		 Sends a private Message to the user specified by [user].
If the User is currently not in the Chat, it will be saved and displayed to him, when he gets into the Chat
/banlist Displays the Ban's which are currently set
/whois [username] Gives out Information about the user identified by [username]
/seen [username] Shows you when the user identified by [username] was last active in the Chat.
Administrative Commands
/op [username] Gives the User Operator status
/deop [username] Removes the User Operator status
/voice [username] Gives user the Voice flag
/devoice [username] Removes the User's Voice flag
/ban [type] [value] Sets a Ban of Type [type] for [value].
Types can be:
user - to ban the user identified by [value],
ip - to ban the ip-adress or
host - to ban the host
/unban [banid] Removes the ban which is identified by [banid]. You can get the ID by calling /banlist
/moderate Sets the Channel to Moderation mode
/unmoderate Sets the Channel to normal mode
/lock Locks the current Channel
/unlock Unlocks the current Channel
/kick [username] [reason] Kicks the user identified by [username] and displays [reason] as kick message
 

What do the @ and + mean?

The @ means, that the User is Chat-Operator which can Kick/Ban you, change the Channel-Mode, etc.
The + means "Voice" which is necessary to talk when the Moderation-Status is set for a Channel.

Why can't i chat in the chatroom?

Possibly, because the room you want to talk in is moderated. If the Chatroom is moderated, you need a Voice-Flag to talk. Try asking a Chat-Operator to give you Voice or just read what the Ops say.
